Our Mission:

As a nationally recognized leader and innovator in the field of affordable housing, the Pinellas County Housing Authority’s mission is to provide safe, quality and affordable housing opportunities for families in need and to cultivate healthy, vibrant neighborhoods throughout Pinellas County.

Who We Are:

The Pinellas County Housing Authority was formed in 1965 and is governed by a five member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Governor of the State of Florida.  We are an independent agency and work under the authority of Florida Statute FS421.04 – 421.08

The Pinellas County Housing Authority provides housing and rental assistance to a total of more than 4,200 families in Pinellas County. We own four public housing complexes, serving a total of 586 families including 100 in an assisted living facility. We also own three affordable rental housing complexes with a total of 951 families. We have won several national agency awards of merit from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO), including recognition for our Economies of Scale program, our expansion of Housing Opportunities without HUD funding, our FSS based Home Ownership program and our Mobility Counseling program. We are proud of our ratings as a "High Performing" agency, which are among the nation's highest.


Awards and Recognition:

The Pinellas County Housing Authority (PCHA) has won several national agency awards of merit from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO), including recognition for the Economies of Scale program , the expansion of local housing opportunities without U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding, the FSS-based home ownership program and the mobility counseling program. The authority is proud to be rated by HUD as a "High Performing" agency.
