East Lake Club Apartments is an affordable housing property, owned and operated by the Pinellas County Housing Authority. With amenities including a pool, clubhouse, laundry room, playground, optional garage parking, lake view and fireplaces, East Lake Club Apartments dispels the myth that affordable housing can not be beautiful too! The family development, conveniently located to shopping, movies and restaurants, consists of 10 buildings with 240 apartments and accepts Section 8 Vouchers.


Housing America 2008

In support of the NAHRO Housing America outreach initiative, the Pinellas County Housing Authority (PCHA) and the St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) are working together to promote affordable and public housing programs to our local, state and federal elected officials, and we need your help! The outreach effort includes the following activities:

 

Poster and Essay Contest – Open to Children from 6 to 14

In April and May 2008, the  housing authorities sponsored a poster and essay contest in support of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials’ (NAHRO) Housing America 2008 outreach campaign. The contest’s theme was “What Home Means to Me,” and it was open to children, ages 6 to 14, who are residents of public and affordable housing properties.
 
Contest winners were honored at an awards ceremony on Wednesday, June 18, 2008. Prizes were given to the top entries for posters and essays in three age categories (6-8 years, 9-11 years, and 12-14 years). Additionally, all participants received certificates of recognition. We congratulate the following winners:

At the end of the contest, the housing authorities plan to send the winning entries to selected local, state and federal elected officials to thank them for their support of affordable housing programs and to encourage them to do more.
